In Him

Religion showed me shege.
There was a time we were asked to eat a bitter leaf and ram meat in the middle of the night on the first night of a new year.
The “prophet” wanted to reenact Exodus 12. 😂😂😂😂
Gosh, that stuff was bitter; despite the torturous meal, I had no result to show for it.

Was it another time a ‘prophet’ asked us to bring a new broom to church in a crusade!
The broom was to be prayed on and the function of the broom was to kill evil cockroaches, evil wall geckos, evil flies, and evil spiders and generally sweep evil away from our homes.
After the evil prayers, we dropped all we had on us as offerings. Religion is profitable, you know. 🤧🤧🤧

There was another time I was looking for power. Not the power to heal the sick or raise the dead nor dispense eternal verities, but power for warfare, power to quench all the fiery darts of the ‘enemy’, the power to be an overcomer. So my crew of power seekers and I went for a camp meeting at the campground of a renowned prophet of God. Our target was simple, touch him to receive power or make contact with wherever he touched. After blessing the congregation, he started making his way to his apartment. As he was moving, people thronged him as his protocol guys were busy fighting them off. He was a very powerful prophet; he was the last of the Apostle Ayo Babalola class alive then. Since we could not move close, we decided to make contact with wherever he stepped. So, we packed the soil and stones of the very spots where his feet stepped. When we got home, we poured the soil and stones inside a bottle and poured clean water 😂😂😂. We called it the water of power (omi agbara), and we used it for different kinds of spiritual activity. We called it the water of power. There is power in the water 😂😂😂. Religion can make people dull, though. A relationship with the Holy Spirit opens up every fibre of your being, and you are full of light and wisdom. I kept that water for a long time😂😂😂.

Was it another time that I had to rise in the middle of the night and start praying stark naked for a specific prayer to be answered? Or other times when we needed to have a certain bath at a certain time to boost our prayers. Many times we will travel to a popular prayer ground and throw ourselves into the cold all night because there is power in that kind of prayer. You would not even have an option when they tell you of men who prayed while kneeling on stones all night for prayers to be answered 🤧🤧🤧.

There are many traditional importations into the gospel; we brought it in from idolatry beliefs in the past, just like the Israelites leaving Egypt but would not leave their ways. Beloved, you are complete in Christ; you cannot not add anything or subtract anything from Christ. In Him, you live; in Him, you move; in Him, you have your being. Anything that is not in Christ, do not engage in it. Your salvation is a complete package; you were translated out of darkness, delivered from every foe, and given a brand new life and destiny. You don’t need to cry for a new destiny, or Jesus should change your destiny. Jesus said in John 17:22 that He has given you the very Glory the Father gave Him. What do you want Him to change it to?

What is your response? Scripture says to walk in the light. Walk in the light. If you are not walking in the light, you will not walk in your inheritance if you do not walk in the light. Stop being a victim, start ruling and reigning. Stop all religious practices and ritual that is alien to the life of Christ in you.
