Counsel

When Solomon said that in the multitude of counsel, there is safety; you must be able to interpret that scripture in context. Solomon was a king, a king with decisions that will shape the future and destiny of a country. Millions of lives will be affected by his decisions, so whenever he needed to make a decision as regards the country, he will need to call every stakeholder in the sector his decision will affect, he will consult them. So many times, his solutions will be shaped by their contributions in such a way that it will be a win-win for everybody. In making his final decision, his ability to see — foresight is very important however, his solution must be a compassionate one. Not a leader who would take a decision and does not mind its consequences. Nigeria’s leader Awolowo was said to function that way. If he needed to effect a policy in education, he will call all the stakeholders that will be affected by his own decisions including even the students involved. Everyone must be consulted. It helps leaders to make compassionate decisions and create a win-win solution.

However, a spirit-filled believer, a Huois, not Teknon or Nepios must take a different route in a decision-making process. A Nepios may not have seen his future, but a Huios can. Huios have foresight. Huios understand their path, and sometimes they need the counsel of other Huios to stir them. Huios must relate with one or the ones who can see and can counsel with Epignosis (the knowledge of Christ), not with Gnosis or Ginosko. Human nature can be very subtle in affecting how we see and we must rid ourselves of it. This is the reason we have Epignosis, the question henceforth will be: ‘’What will Christ do?’’. When Christ faced the sea storm what did he do? When Christ faced the sick, what did He do? When Christ faced the needy, what did He do? When Christ faced a shortage of resources, what did He do? When Christ was alone and disciples were afraid, what did He do? This is the reason Paul by the Spirit called Christ our perfect High Priest. We do not have a High Priest who does not understand our infirmity. What is the infirmity? The burden of living in the flesh and God living in us, the human mind that tries to affect our Christ mind. Jesus lived and experienced the nature of man and God nature, He succeeded and this is why we must grow in the knowledge (Epignosis) of Him (Christ) to succeed in our new life in Him. Our perfect High Priest.

I love you
